About Us

Sonia's passion for dance has burned brightly since she was a child. Her formative years were spent honing her skills at Marlene's Dance Académie, where she received exceptional training that laid the foundation for her future success.

Those early experiences fueled Sonia's desire to share the joy of dance with others. She then embarked on a fulfilling journey as a demon dazzler at Northwestern State University for four years. Then went on to continue in the dance world as a dance instructor, gaining invaluable knowledge from renowned choreographers and teachers.

Sonia's approach to dance instruction goes beyond just steps and routines. She fosters a supportive environment where each student can reach their full potential. Building self-pride and encouraging exploration are cornerstones of her teaching philosophy, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere for students to blossom.

Now, Sonia is embarking on a new and exciting chapter at House of Movement (formally known as Marlene's Dance Académie). This fresh start allows her to continue inspiring and empowering dancers of all ages, while offering a dynamic and welcoming space for artistic expression.
